There are two basic forms of testing

• Verification Testing
• Validation Testing

Verification

• “Are we building it right?”
• Each step in building the product complies with the process to yield a right
• product.

Validation

• “Are we building the right thing?”
• Determination of the correctness of the products of software development with respect to the user needs and requirements.
